Committee chair introduces the Boda Boda Passenger Safety Bill
This bill makes passenger helmets mandatory on every boda boda trip and creates an annual KSh 1,000 county registration for riders, paid into a County Rider Safety Fund that pays for rider training.

Every boda boda rider would have to carry a spare helmet and make sure the passenger wears it before starting any trip.
Every operator of a motorcycle used for hire shall provide a protective helmet of an approved standard to every passenger, and no operator shall carry a passenger who is not wearing such a helmet.
Question 2 of 2 · Annual county registration

Every boda boda rider would pay KSh 1,000 once a year to register with their county, and the money would fund rider safety training.
Every operator of a motorcycle used for hire shall register annually with the county government of their principal place of operation upon payment of a fee of one thousand shillings, which shall be paid into the County Rider Safety Fund.
